We’re “keeping the climate cool” by using arts and ecology to create climate dialogue in East Texas frontline communities.
Climate Justice Texas (advocacy-based 501c4 ) and Climate Justice Texas Community (fiscally-sponsored, nonpartisan 501c3) are nonprofit organizations rooted in the unique biodiversity and energy economies of East Texas. We create inclusive spaces for our communities to have open conversations about our environment, the unique challenges that we face, and how to preserve our region for future generations.
Our approach — at the heart of the energy economy of the United States, where the Spindletop gusher first struck oil and the last remnants the “Big Thicket” of East Texas remains.
We combine arts, ecology, and civic engagement to start the conversation on the changing climate among young people in East Texas and beyond.

Our Vision
We envision a world where everyone feels empowered to join the conversation about the changing climate in their backyards and beyond: where native plants and animals are brought back into our vocabularies and our landscapes; where individuals and communities have the tools to advocate for their own air, land, and water; and where we are all a part of stewarding a more climate-forward Texas, United States, and world.

Donations to Climate Justice Texas Community (501c3) are tax-exempt and tax-deductible. We are told that this only makes a real difference if donations are above $10,000 — but we’ll let you be the judge of your own money.
