We’re “keeping the climate cool” by creating accessible climate dialogue in East Texas and beyond.
Climate Justice Texas (advocacy-based 501c4 ) and Climate Justice Texas Community (fiscally-sponsored, nonpartisan 501c3) are nonprofit organizations rooted in the unique biodiversity and energy economies of East Texas. We create inclusive spaces for our communities to have open conversations about their environment, the unique challenges that they face, and how to preserve their regions for future generations.
Our approach — as grassroots, youth-focused environmental organizations developed from a critical crossroads: the heart of the energy economy of the United States of America, where the Spindletop gusher first struck oil + the last remnants of the site of the greatest biodiversity in the United States of America, the “Big Thicket” of East Texas.
We combine arts engagement, environmental advocacy, conservation education, and civic literacy to empower the individuals and communities we work with.

Our Vision
We envision a world where everyone feels empowered to have creative conversations about their changing climate; where native plants and animals are brought back into our collective vocabularies and into our collective landscapes; and where impacted communities are given the tools and knowledge to become better advocates for their access to and stewardship of clean air, land, and water.

While our work is deeply inclusive, collaborative, and inherently works across political aisles in a deeply conservative area, we use ActBlue for our 501c4 advocacy organization, Climate Justice Texas, mostly because it is a very clean, comprehensive, and user-friendly advocacy platform.
Additionally, for advocacy purposes, we have found that most stewards of the landscape within the political framework of the United States of America at this time are partisan and Democratic. So, that is who we are currently most closely aligned with.
If this bothers you, please feel free to donate to our nonpartisan project, Climate Justice Texas Community, instead!
