New Year, New Vision: A Message from Climate Justice Texas

Dear Climate Justice Texas community,

Thank you for standing with us this past year! Your support, energy, and dedication have helped advance community-centered climate justice in East Texas and beyond. Together, we continue to shape a movement rooted in local leadership, youth voices, and ecological stewardship built for and by the people who call this region home.

About Climate Justice Texas

Founded by passionate young women of color, CJT empowers youth to explore environmental challenges, build local knowledge, and lead community efforts for a greener, more equitable future in Southeast Texas.

We’re “keeping the climate cool” across East Texas, celebrating our regional landscape through community stories, arts-centered civic engagement, and stewardship of the land we cherish. Our work is grounded in cultural expression and local narratives that resonate with our community's identity.

2025: Milestones We’re Proud Of

This year was transformative for CJT. We’re thrilled to share five major accomplishments:

1) Legal & Financial Incorporation
CJT is now officially incorporated, strengthening our foundation for sustainable impact.

2) BRIDGE Incubator Graduate & Collective Member
We completed the BRIDGE Incubator and became a proud member of the BRIDGE Collective, gaining essential resources and network support for our growth.

3) Redeveloped Programs & New Website
All of our programs and campaigns were rethought and relaunched on a brand-new website to reflect our mission and community offerings better.

4) New Brand Identity & Merchandise
We designed and launched updated logos, slogans, and CJT merch to elevate our visibility and build community pride.

5) 501(c)(3) Fiscal Sponsorship Secured
Thanks to fiscal sponsorship, CJT now qualifies for grants and broader funding opportunities, a significant and critical step toward long-term organizational sustainability.

Each of these milestones brings us closer to a community-driven environmental movement that is resilient, inclusive, and ready for the challenges ahead.

Looking Ahead to the Future

We have ambitious plans for the upcoming year. Here’s what we’re most excited about:

Zine Launch
Our CJT zine will be a platform for community storytelling, art, environmental reflection, and civic engagement. We invite local writers, artists, and community members to contribute and help us share diverse voices.

Growth in People Power
We are expanding CJT’s board, staff, and volunteer community; more leadership means more impact. Consider getting involved or referring someone passionate about climate justice to strengthen our efforts.

Strategic Partnerships
We are cultivating collaborations with local businesses, civic leaders, and community organizations. Your support can help deepen our reach and scale our efforts. Join us in building these strategic partnerships.
